Musk Shares Intriguing BFR Spaceship Photo

For Elon Musk, recent attention has focused more on his Tesla ventures than with SpaceX. On Sunday night, that started to change.

Ever the captivator, the SpaceX CEO shared this intriguing photo to his over 7 million Instagram followers:

What is Musk posting about?

The caption notes that this massive piece of machinery is the "main body tool" for the BFR Spaceship. "BFR" aptly stands for "Big F-----g Rocket".

A BFR it is indeed; note the Tesla parked just to the side of the tool, yielding even more grandeur to its size.

Once completed, the full spaceship will be massive: 157.5 feet long by 30 feet wide. It is intended to accommodate more than 100 passengers at once, and should also incorporate a rocket. The rocket would be able to launch 150 tons to low Earth orbit, thanks to 31 featured Raptor engines.

According to documents on the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners website (h/t Space.com), Space X will build the BFR in Long Beach, California.

Musk has previously said that the first BFR test flight (a short one) could be conducted as soon as the first half of 2019.
